The Hostel of the Thassim Beevi Abdul Kader College for Women is named as ” Hajiani Mariam Beevi Thaikappa Hostel for Women“. The Late Mrs Mariam Beevi was the wife of late Alhaj K.T.M.S. Abdul Kader Jamali, belovedly called ” Thaikappa “, Chairman of the Seethakathi Trust. The hostel was inaugurated on 29th July 1988.

Our hostel consists of 37 comfortable rooms, properly ventilated and fully furnished with cots, cupboards, fans, chairs, and tables. A water purification plant is installed for the benefit of the students.

Purified drinking water is supplied to the students both in college and in the hostel. There are well-maintained toilets and bathrooms. We have a well-equipped kitchen, withacious dining hall that can accommodate 200 students at a time.

The “Tuck Shop”, available on our campus, provides the residents with the necessary things.

A well-equipped gymnasium is installed inside the hostel. Yoga and driving classes are conducted for the hostel students. 

The principal of the college is the Warden of the Hostel, and the Deputy Warden is nominated by the Principal of the College.

Three floor Tutors and the Student Representatives are nominated by the Principal/Warden. 

The hostel shall be under the control of the Principal/Warden, and the Deputy Warden will assist her in the overall administration, general supervision, and disciplined life of the residents in the hostel.

Every hostel student has to pay the establishment fee and other fees within 15 days of the beginning of each term (semester).

Boarding students should pay the food fee by the first 10th of every month.

VISITORS AND VISITING HOURS


A stamp-size photo of two authorised visitors should accompany the application for admission to the hostel. Visitors’ ID cards will be provided. Visitors coming without the visitor’s ID card will not be permitted to meet the students. Visiting hours are from 9.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. on the first and third Sunday of every month. Visitors are not allowed to enter the campus after visiting hours or on non-visiting days. Two visitors can be chosen among the following: mother, father, aunt, uncle, sister, grandmother, grandfather, or local guardian.

All visitors are expected to keep themselves informed of the visiting hours and the days for visiting by ascertaining the same from the Warden, to avoid inconvenience and disappointment. Parents can get the information they need by contacting the hostel at 9442617023, 9442617024, and 9442617032’. Other than that, you should not send or receive information from other students studying in college.
